Volunteer with RAEN

RAEN is looking for volunteers. If you are interested in facilitating a group, providing operational support or helping at events, please complete the survey below and we will be in contact when we have an opportunity that suits. Thankyou!

PEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Regional Autistic Engagement Peer Group Program now runs statewide after having started in Tasmania’s North-West. Our Peer Groups are facilitated by our fantastic volunteers who have each worked with RAEN to develop their groups into an autistic led and designed group to meet community interests and needs. Our groups are explicitly neuro-affirming and LGBTQIA+ inclusive. Our groups service different age ranges, all groups require under 18 attendees to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

If you have an idea for a group or time to volunteer, please fill out the volunteer form above.

As well as in person groups, RAEN hosts a moderated Discord server full of different topic channels where you can go to chat, get event reminders, share special interests and much more. This Discord is open to ALL Neurodivergent Tasmanians. Parents please be advised that while this Discord is moderated by volunteers, the participants are of all ages, and it is up to your manage your minors involvement.

Minecraft

Time:         Monday 6pm-8pm

Where:      Online

REGISTER HERE: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GKJ3L8D

Our Minecraft Server is run using the Realms feature provided by Minecraft. There is a moderated 2-hour weekly session.
The RAEN Realm can be accessed on console or PC and you will need to have the Bedrock version of Minecraft installed and a Microsoft account.

Each session has the capacity for 8-9 players and has 1-2 facilitators. Due to the player limit on the Realm being 10 players it will be a first logged in, first to play system. To register to play, please email peerconnect@raentasmania.com.au.

The session times will be moderated, however the Realm will be accessible outside these times. This Realm is STRICTLY 18+ and players MUST adhere to the server rules (see below) in every instance no matter what time they wish to play. Players who do not adhere to the rules will no longer be allowed to access this RAEN program.

By completing this registration you are agreeing to the server rules and RAEN's values.

We hope to add session times and seek funding to allow for a server that hosts more players at a time. The current registration and sessions are a BETA period to fine tune the operation of this new program.  â€‹â€‹

ONLINE DND - Expressions of Interest

After some community conversation we have decided to open an Expression of Interest form for a NEW online D&D (5e) game. *Please note we will begin these games using the D&D 5e system but may change it up after group input later in the year.

Players should be 18+, live in Tasmania and be Autistic or ADHD (or both!) The plan is to run these games as mini campaigns in blocks of two months each (3-5 sessions) with games taking place fortnightly. The games will run in the evening from 5-8pm.

To ensure that as many people as possible can access this online group we ask that you fill out the EOI at the link below if you are interested. Then, we can group you based on play experience, age, availability and allocate you to 2 month mini campaign.

Please complete the EOI here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/G5Z9ZM9

We will notify you via email once groups are allocated play times and start dates. For any more questions please email peerconnect@raentasmania.com.au
